After spending five years in the Air Force, I entered Emporia State University, where I earned my teaching degree. I taught five years of first grade and then one of fourth and one of fifth. It was during this time I learned the power of the phonograms.
After teaching I transitioned into the I.T. world. With the skills I learned there I created a reading program on CD that I've sold on eBay for many years.
I have three children, all of whom I taught to read using the phonograms. They are all very successful in school and I believe a big part of that was their reading ability. My children's ages are 21, 18 and 6. The last one served to absolutely confirm my belief in the power of the phonograms. She is in first grade and reading well above grade level.
It has been quite a journey, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
