Mark Williamson is a scientist and statistician with a broad background in science and scientific methodology. He also is the published author of a science fiction novel and dinosaur book for kids.
His scientific background includes physics, analytical chemistry, biomedical research, statistics, ecology, genomics, and most recently, epidemiology. His Ph.D. dissertation incorporated the fields of ecology, evolution, and genetics to explore the interaction between gene copy number, nutrient use, and life history in soil microbes. Given his wide background, he is well-qualified to tackle a wide scope of problems and quickly incorporate new fields of inquiry into his domain of competency. As part of his current position as a research assistant professor, he has provided statistical support for multiple research projects. He has also created nearly a hundred statistical training presentations.
