My name is Luke Pickard. I am a physiotherapist living and working in the United Kingdom.
With over fourteen years of clinical experience in public and private healthcare settings, I bring a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge to my varied physiotherapy roles. I have extensive experience leading within a range of primary and secondary care settings that include: musculoskeletal outpatients, cardiology, intensive care, brain injury, respiratory and community.
I have developed my knowledge of and approaches to delivering Higher Education by gaining experience teaching physiotherapy students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. I emphasize the importance of encouraging students to develop strong clinical reasoning and empathetic communication skills. My teaching approach integrates thorough assessments, guided treatments and evidence-based practice.
As both a practitioner and teacher within healthcare, my expertise enables me to continue to foster supportive and engaging learning environments; to produce high quality learning materials and deliver real-world insights into care for patients, students and colleagues.
My goal is to inspire the healthcare providers, advocates and enthusiasts of both today and tomorrow to think critically, act compassionately and deliver high-quality care to diverse patient populations.
