Luiz Valério P. Trindade holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Southampton (UK). He is a prolific author with many published journal articles, has been featured in dozens of news articles both in Brazil and overseas, and has published several general interest articles.
His research output has been published, for example, in Alceu (PUC-RJ); Annals of Social Sciences & Management Studies; the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies; Comunicação, Mídia e Consumo (ESPM-SP); Discover Society; Ethnic and Racial Studies; Network - Magazine of the British Sociological Association; Social Science Space; The Conversation; among many others.
He authored a successful book derived from his PhD thesis entitled No laughing matter: race joking and resistance in Brazilian social media published in 2020 by Vernon Press (USA). This monograph is already available in over 50 university libraries around the world and was among the nominated titles for the 2021 edition of the prestigious British Sociological Association Philip Abrams Memorial Prize granted for the best book in sociology.
Furthermore, he has also developed a solid career as an independent author, having already published more than 40 titles since 2014.
