About me
Welcome! My name is Lindsay Murn and I am a licensed psychologist in the State of Minnesota. I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University (2013) and am a Master Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) practitioner and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have a full-time private practice in Minnesota focusing on improving the lives of individuals struggling with the after-effects of trauma. I previously worked as an associate professor/counselor in a university counseling center, and prior to that worked in community mental health leading a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and serving as a mental health representative on a community drug court. My clinical work spans diverse populations of all ages, racial and ethnic backgrounds, identities, and regions in four different states across the U.S.
I approach all facets of my work as a psychologist with a trauma-informed lens, and am passionate about sharing this framework with others. I specialize in treating acute, chronic, and complex post-traumatic stress, I've conducted and published original research, and provide professional development trainings on self-compassion, trauma, trauma-informed care, therapy, leadership, and teaching/learning, sexual violence, clinician burnout, collegiate mental health, and therapy outcomes, among other topics.
I have experience teaching a variety of college courses, presenting research at regional, state, and national conferences, conducting continuing education trainings for mental health professionals and practitioners, delivering psychoeducational presentations for higher education faculty and staff, and supervising and training novice mental health practitioners and counselors.
My education, training, supervision, teaching, and clinical experiences have fostered my enthusiasm and commitment to bringing high-quality, dynamic psychoeducational trainings to all helping professionals. Thank you for joining me and allowing me to be part of your personal and professional development journey!
