My name is Leslie Huss, and I have been a Mathematics Instructor for over 11 years. I have teaching experience at the College and High School levels, and tutoring experience at the Middle and Elementary School levels.
Before I started teaching, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University, and then I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from Appalachian State University.
My main goal as an instructor is to present mathematical concepts in a relevant way, in an effort to improve student understanding. Many students have given me favorable evaluations in the past. I have included some of the anonymous evaluations below.
"Mrs. Huss was an excellent teacher and outstanding instructor. She cares about each student individually."
"Ms. Huss is very well educated, especially within this subject. She was very understanding and made it her goal to help everyone succeed. She teaches the material by clearly listing out the steps needed to solve the problem and provides multiple examples that help with the understanding of the chapter being covered. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone interested in taking a math class."
"I took Calculus before and utterly failed it. I did not absorb it at all, but when I decided to retake it with Mrs. Huss, I was blown away about how much I learned. Her teaching method is really solid, other teachers would benefit learning from her. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about Mrs. Huss."
