About Me:

Welcome! I'm a former music theory professor who is now working full-time to bring my knowledge and expertise to you. During my time teaching at the university level, I taught everything from non-major courses to doctoral level courses. I believe in a slow and gradual approach to ear training and music theory that makes it easy and fun to learn

I have over two decades of experience in music theory, composition, and performance. I hold a Master of Music in Music Composition from The University of Arizona, where I graduated cum laude, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Teaching Experience:

I have had the privilege of teaching at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory and an Adjunct Instructor. My courses ranged from introductory music fundamentals to advanced topics such as counterpoint, form and analysis, and twentieth- and twenty-first-century techniques. I have developed and authored “The Musical Core,” an online course designed to support the specific needs of online education, which is currently in use by several institutions.

Publications and Works:

As an author, I have published several books and courses, including “Form and Analysis: The Composer’s Perspective” and “The Elements of Music Composition.” My compositions have been performed by various ensembles, and I have a rich catalog of recordings available on multiple platforms.

Professional Experience:

In addition to my academic career, I oversee TNC MUSIC, where I manage a catalog of over 100 recordings and collaborate with artists to distribute and promote their work. My expertise extends to score editing, post-production, and music promotion.

Community and Mentorship:

I am dedicated to fostering musical talent and have served as a committee member and faculty advisor for various student projects and clubs. My commitment to music education is reflected in my extensive lecture series and ear training programs designed to help students develop their skills progressively.
