K. A. Laity is the award-winning author of fiction like White Rabbit, The Mangrove Legacy, Love is a Grift, Airships & Alchemy, Dream Book, A Cut-Throat Business, Lush Situation, Owl Stretching, Unquiet Dreams, Chastity Flame, and Pelzmantel, as well as editor of Respectable Horror, Weird Noir, Noir Carnival, and Drag Noir. She does NOT build her courses with AI! Her non-fiction includes How to Keep Writing with a Full Time Job, a translation of a 19th century tarot guide, and many essays, both scholarly and popular. A polymath who makes art, films, and music, she was awarded a 2011-2012 Fulbright Fellowship in Galway, Ireland for digital humanities at NUIG. As a tenured professor, Dr. Laity taught medieval literature, film, gender studies, crime fiction, digital humanities, and popular culture at the College of Saint Rose in New York until its closure in 2024; she was also the director of the Digital Humanities Initiative.
