I began my career with a BA in English Language and Literature.  I taught High School English, tutored High School and university students in English and composition and also tutored for SAT, ACT and TOEFL preparation.

After earning an MA in History with an emphasis in environmental history and the history of science, I expanded my skill set to embrace the 'digital humanities'.  Data visualization, GIS and Python enhanced my more traditional liberal arts education, allowing me to reach a more diverse audience.

In an increasingly digital world it is easy to neglect the basics of communication - vocabulary and rhetoric.  However, they are the key to communicating any subject to any audience.  With this in mind, I am now developing courses on these foundational topics.  My hope is that this knowledge will help you communicate confidently, polish your skills, ace your exams and accomplish your goals!
