From Systems Developer to AI Explorer: The Journey of Joche Ojeda
I'm Jose Manuel Ojeda, though most people know me as Joche. While I started with a computer management degree, my real learning kicked in on the job. Back in 2003, I was working to standardize software systems across nine global branches, helping transition everything to the then-new .NET technology.
Through consistent work and problem-solving, I moved up to lead programmer, where I evaluated different controls and frameworks for our development needs. My work impacted offices across the U.S., Canada, Chile, U.K., Australia, and China, including a key project to assess frameworks for a company-wide ERP system.
In 2008, I stepped into independent consulting, which opened new doors. Along with my business partner Jose Javier Columbie, we established XAI in the United States. This gave us the opportunity to travel and teach C# .NET, XPO, and XAF to development teams at various companies. Working with our XARI & BitFrameworks team, we've helped build numerous business applications that solve real-world problems.
These days, I focus on practical applications of AI in business software. I spend most of my time developing prototypes with Semantic Kernel and Microsoft AI extensions, testing different AI models to understand how they perform in typical business scenarios. It's hands-on work that combines my background in enterprise software with emerging AI technologies.
