John Pearson

I have loved math and physics since I was a student.  After finishing my Ph.D. in Mathematics with a minor in Physics, I decided to forgo research to teach high school students to love these subjects as much as I do.  Most importantly, I want to make these subjects feel approachable by providing the clearest possible instruction so that you too can feel the thrill of mastering the skills required for success in math and physics.

Experience as an AP Instructor

As a teacher, I have taught AP courses for 10+ years and also served as an AP Reader (i.e. as a grader for the exam.)  My students have consistently performed well on this exam and also found something to love about math and physics.  Even if you are not going to be a mathematician or physicist, I believe there are lifelong meta-skills that will be valuable to you long after you have forgotten the details of these subjects.
