Japheth is a chartered accountant and business leader with about 15 years experience of work in finance, risk management, and corporate governance across several inductries. He climbed the peak of his career in 2020 when he was appointed the Chief Financial Officer an oil and gas upstream company, a position in which he was responsible for working with the Chief Executive and Board of directors of the company in developing financial and corporate strategies, risk management and implementation of the set strategy.
Japheth holds gold standards professional qualifications in finance and accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK; Association of International Chartered Public Accountants in the US; and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He also holds a Masters of Science degree in Finance and Investment wherein he graduated as the overall best student, winnning the prize for the Best postgraduate finance students in 2023.
He transitioned his career to academics and joins BirminghaM Newman University as a faculty member in Finance and Accounting where he designs, develop and facilitate learning on emergent aspects of finance such as sustainabilit and climate finance, big data analytics in finance, and cryptocurrencies.
