My name is Irmarie, online Dutch teacher for over 4 years. I love different cultures and languages! My biggest hobby is traveling, getting to know new cultures and learning languages. I am currently learning Spanish. I am also fluent in English, Dutch and Afrikaans.

In my life, I have often moved back and forth between South Africa and the Netherlands. I came to study in Stellenbosch when I was 19 years old. Here I obtained my BA in International Studies. After my studies, I moved back to the Netherlands and lived and worked there for 5 years. Now I have been living in South Africa, in the beautiful city of Cape Town, for a few years.

Because of my background and experience, I have a very good understanding of the types of challenges that Afrikaans speakers face when learning Dutch. Therefore, I know which aspects are best to focus on during the lesson.
