Founder of The Golden Thread, David Powell is an Executive Coach, Facilitator and author who empowers people with the timeless skills required to thrive in an AI-driven world — blending wisdom, science, and strategy to build competent, future-ready teams.

David’s career spans more than three decades, during which he has helped individuals and teams in hundreds of organizations across 30 countries and five continents. Before moving into people development, he graduated with first-class honours in chemical engineering from Edinburgh University and spent 24 years leading teams in the resources and IT industries.

His travels — including a year driving a Land Rover from the UK to Australia — deepened his study of world religions, gnostic wisdom, history, and psychology. This lifelong inquiry has shaped his unique ability to synthesise science and physics with ancient wisdom to inspire the whole person — body, mind, emotions, and inner being.

David continues to write, teach, and mentor internationally.
