Hello, my name is Hossam Salama, and I will be your instructor for this course.
I am a Chemical Engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience in process plant operations, offshore and onshore production facilities, and industrial utilities. Throughout my career, I have worked with major production organisations across multiple countries, gaining strong practical exposure to real operating environments.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, a Diploma of Process Plant Technology, an Australian Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and an Australian Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, along with formal qualifications in environmental management. This combination of technical, operational, and training credentials allows me to effectively connect real-world plant operations with structured learning.
Over the years, I have performed a wide range of operational and technical roles, including Field Operator, Control Room Operator, Shift Supervisor, Operations Engineer, Offshore Production Support and Cargo Quality Specialist, as well as Process Trainer and Assessor. These roles have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of daily plant operations, safety-critical environments, and quality and compliance requirements.
My operational experience spans petrochemical plants, LNG and FLNG facilities, oil and gas operations, power generation plants, utilities systems, and chemical processing facilities. I am currently working in offshore operations, where safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to successful production.
I have designed this course to be clear, practical, and easy to follow, using real examples from operating plants to reflect actual industry practices. My goal is to help you understand not only the theory, but also the realities of working in a process plant environment.
I hope this course meets your expectations and adds real value to your professional journey.
