About me
Professional Introduction
Hello! I’m Giancarlo Castillo, a professor, entrepreneur, and professional passionate about the transformative power of technology and independent & renewable energy. My career has taken me to work with leading global banks such as BBVA, Santander, and Falabella, major energy companies including Repsol, Luz del Sur, and Statkraft, and the events industry.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Project Management, reflecting my commitment to continuous personal and professional growth and my constant search for innovative ways to apply technology to improve modern work environments.
Experience in Renewable & Independent Energy
For more than 10 years, I have led financial and strategic projects across multiple industries, with a strong focus on renewable and independent energy. I have worked within the world’s leading hydropower group and Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, playing a key role in the standardization and improvement of financial models, strategic planning, acquisition negotiations, and the structuring of financial agreements.
My work has contributed directly to the development and execution of solar, wind, and hydroelectric energy projects, bridging financial analysis with real-world energy project execution.
Passion for Teaching and Technology
I have a strong passion for digital education, digital product creation, and technology-driven learning. I am especially interested in Artificial Intelligence and automation, and how these tools can be used to increase efficiency, improve decision-making, and save valuable time.
I continuously explore and experiment with these technologies, always focusing on practical applications that can be directly transferred to professional environments.
Looking Toward the Future
Looking ahead, I am particularly excited about a project that combines my background in finance, energy, and education with my passion for technology: the development of an online mentoring and training program.
This initiative is designed to empower professionals with practical tools, financial frameworks, and strategic insights, preparing them to confidently lead and evaluate energy and infrastructure projects in a rapidly evolving global market.
