His career has been marked by significant contributions to the design, implementation, and management of complex satellite projects, making him a leading authority in the field of New Space Technology and Economy.

Dr. Skikos holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. His expertise in satellite systems is underpinned by his role as the Co-Founder and Chief Operations and Technical Officer (COO & CTO) of Bulgaria Sat AD, where he directed the BulgariaSat-1 satellite program. This program involved overseeing the manufacturing, launch, in-orbit testing, and commercial operations of the satellite, with a total contract value of approximately $250 million.

In addition to his work with Bulgaria Sat, Dr. Skikos has founded and led several companies focused on satellite technology and AI integration, including ProtonSAT Ltd and AI Technologies Ltd. At ProtonSAT, he provided comprehensive satellite project consulting services, while at AI Technologies, he pioneered the development of self-flying, autonomous space systems by integrating AI for daily operations.

Dr. Skikos's experience also includes serving as the Executive Technology and Operations Officer at Hellas Sat Ltd, where he managed all technical aspects of the company's operations and expanded market and satellite capacity sales in Southern Africa.
