About Me Hi, I’m George Marshall—a composer, arranger, and educator with over a decade of experience in music composition and theory. My work spans concert music, video games, and film, and I hold a PhD in Composition focused on creative constraints and how composers develop ideas over time.
I’m passionate about helping musicians unlock the tools to write music that’s both technically strong and emotionally compelling.
My Experience I’ve written music for 60+ projects, from award-winning short films to orchestral arrangements, and my compositions have been performed by ensembles across the UK and beyond. My solo piano music won the 21st Century Classical Music Composition Competition, and my work has appeared in global festivals from London to Arkansas.
Alongside composing, I’ve spent years teaching theory, counterpoint, orchestration, and contemporary techniques—mentoring hundreds of students and helping them build confidence in their own musical voice.
What to Expect From My Courses My courses are designed to turn complex ideas into clear, usable techniques. Whether we’re studying Romantic orchestration, minimalist harmony, or the inner workings of counterpoint, you’ll find practical lessons, real musical examples, and creative tools you can use immediately in your own work.
If you're ready to write music that resonates—while deepening your craft—I’d love to help you get there.
