Ferda Özdemir Sönmez received her BSc degree in
Electrical and Electronics Engineering department,
Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara,
Turkey. After graduation, she worked in
the private sector for 20 years as software
specialist, software development consultant,
project manager and IT manager. She is holding
the PMP degree since 2009. The projects she
worked for include mainly e-government and
Telco projects. Having hands on experience provided
her in-depth knowledge of software development,
design and software project management fields.
She started her graduate study in Informatics
Institute, METU, in 2012 in the Information
Systems field and got her MSc in 2012 and PhD in
2019 in the same department. Her academic
research interests include security visualization,
security requirements engineering, and security
management topics. Recently, she also started
studying the blockchain fundamentals
and blockchain security topics.
