Emily Dux Speltz holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Technology. She also holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in TESL/Applied Linguistics. In 2021, she taught an honors seminar course at her university titled “Everything is Fine: Exploring ethics in NBC’s The Good Place,” so she was encouraged by fans of the show to provide an online version of this course on Udemy for the world outside of her university to enjoy. In addition to exploring the moral philosophy discussed in The Good Place, she enjoys teaching university English and linguistics classes and conducting research about writing processes and innovative technologies.
