Dr. Kiran TALELE is a distinguished faculty member at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (S.P.I.T.), Mumbai, with over 37+ years of rich academic experience. He currently serves as the Dean – Students, Alumni & External Relations, and also leads as the Director of the Sardar Patel Technology Business Incubator, where he actively promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development.

His areas of expertise include Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Multimedia Systems.

Dr. TALELE has made significant scholarly contributions with 85+ research publications and holds 25+ patents, including several granted in India, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Beyond academia, he plays a vital role in the professional community as the Treasurer of the IEEE Mumbai Section. He is also deeply involved in mentoring startups and guiding initiatives related to intellectual property creation and innovation ecosystems.

Dr. TALELE’s excellence in teaching, research, and professional service has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the P. R. Bapat IEEE Bombay Section Outstanding Volunteer Award (2019) and the Innovative Teaching-Learning and Evaluation Methodology Award (2025).
