Dr. Banu Priya Prathaban is an accomplished academician, researcher, and educator with over 8 years of teaching, 4 years of research, and mentoring experience. She is currently pursuing her post-doctoral research in IoT Cybersecurity at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, while serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Networking and Communications at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Chennai.
She holds a Ph.D. in Internet of Medical Things from SRMIST, an M.E. in Embedded System Technologies with a Gold Medal, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University. Her research interests encompass Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Quantum Machine Learning, Biomedical Signal and Image Processing, Wireless Communication, and Computer Networks.
Dr. Banu Priya has authored over 90 research publications in reputed national and international journals and conferences, including SCI-indexed journals, with more than 240 citations to her credit with several best paper awards. She has 12 published patents, including a granted patent for the innovative ForeSeiz Headband, a wearable deep-learning-based system for epileptic seizure prediction. She has also received a Grant-in-Aid from The Institution of Engineers (India) for her research contributions. She is currently doing her project titled “FOG Forecaster” under SERI Seed fund for Rs. 3 Lakhs. She is also one of the recipient of IPTIF-AGNI Fellowship 2025.
