About me
Hi, I’m Dominic and I’ve been tutoring engineering for the better part of my life! :)
Starting out in Engineering High School in Croatia, I haven’t had much interest in engineering. But turns out my interest was just a latecomer which hasn’t sparked until my second year. This meant I had a lot of catching up to do and what do you do when you must learn everything by yourself? Internet :)
I always found it frustrating how hard was it to get a grasp of a concept if you don’t have the foundational knowledge behind it. This led me to break down each new topic I was trying to catch up on and teach myself, step by step, how does the concept work. Little did I know at the time that this method would be something life-changing. When after a little hard work, I finally caught up in my modules and I realized that going forward, every new, so-called “DIFFICULT” topic was breakable into smaller elements, which are easy to understand. I went from being a kid who was failing 8 modules, to someone who was scoring top 5 in state competitions in modules I used to fail in. (Within the same academic year!) The year after that, I was named the best student in the academic year 2014/2015 for the entire county by the reputable organization Rotary club.
Ever since I realized how to teach myself anything, I started to share that with all my friends who, guess what, were also failing at the time (what a coincidence...) and I realized how powerful these methods are. As a result of that, I fell in love with teaching, and I just wanted to share my knowledge with anyone willing to listen. This led me to start my tutoring company with great success and once I generated enough money, I packed my bags and moved to the United Kingdom to study Mechanical Engineering. Ever since arriving in the UK, I was tutoring my peers and my company Arc Tutoring ended up winning the award for the “Best Business” in the Flare competition. Now, at the end of my academic journey, I am pursuing education full time and I hope that my story, if anything, provided you with a little comfort, knowing that with the right approach to learning, anything is possible.
I have just started creating my online courses for Engineering modules, so I’m glad to have you on this journey. :)
