Painter, teaching Arts
About me
I am born in Germany, but I’m living in Thessaloniki, Greece since 1980. As a kid painting was my relaxation. I remember hours and hours of drawing & painting, enjoying the game to create something in a simple paper, mixing colours was fascinating to me. In the world of painting I was the creator, I was the one who can do whatever I wish and that was extremely tempting for me. I grew up knowing that creating art would be my life destination.
So, the decision what shall I study wasn’t difficult for me. My first degree was in arts from the High School of Fine Arts University in Athens and the second degree was from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, where I studied interior architecture, decorative arts and design. I had the honour to represent my country in many countries of the European community as well as in a biennale in Barcelona in 1997 « 307 Fiesta De La Vendimia Del Condado – Turismo Y Cultura» among many new artists from all over Europe. I also participated in many exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Skyros etc as well as in Berlin and in 2015 I participated in « SuppArting students», a movement in Greece, and at gallery Turker Robbins & Gling Young under the supervision of HRF in New York as an artist. The last twenty years I’m teaching in private schools to adults and kids as well in a government school with special need kids, which shows that I believe art has no age neither limits, you can transfer the knowledge to everyone and anyhow.
Now about me, normally for artists it is difficult to talk about themselves by words, as we learn to talk by our art and show to the rest of the people who we are and what we wish to say. However, I will try to explain and present myself to you all. I can describe myself as a positive, creative, passionate and sharing person who loves painting. I wish to make as many people as I can to love the art and find the calling to their own path of creativity and start their own journey in the world of creating art. Teaching adults is a challenge because I need to learn them since the start to let themselves free, free from all the “must” and thoughts to bring out the hidden kids inside them. Making them relax, enjoy, and at the last help them find their own path in creation. I completely agree with the opinion that art and beauty don't have to necessarily be interdependent. This belief frees us all to create, to imagine, to travel; for both, the creator & the viewer of Art. I will borrow what my students describe me over the years….” Your teaching is like a river of knowledge in which it is difficult at the start to dive into, but after you done it … swimming is easy”…
Art needs to align body and soul, which is important. Art can show you ways and paths you couldn’t imagine or expecting that they exist. Art has the power to make you feel, be emotional, unique, travelling far away from this world inside your own truth. I wish I will be able to show you that world inside you. I’m very blessed as well as happy because I manage to make my hobby a profession. I’m mostly blessed because I’m able to share my passion of painting with people all those years and now all around the world. So let yourself free on this journey without hesitations, limits or thoughts. After all, art has no limits except the ones we set ourselves.
