Dave Rongey

I'm Dave Rongey of Ask-The-Electrician.

I have been working in the electrical industry since 1972 with experience in residential, commercial and industrial areas of new construction, additions and remodels. As a Licensed Electrical Contractor, I have seen too many do-it-yourself projects that are serious fire and safety hazards that were performed by well-meaning people. I don't want you to take a chance on doing your next project wrong and becoming a headline in your home town newspaper!

In 2007 I decided to share my years of electrical experience online so others could have the ability to perform do-it-yourself projects and improve the safety and comfort of their home. Through my website I share electrical project instructional guides with simple step-by-step instructions backed by over 40 years on hands-on experience.

I live in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California with my wife, Carol.
