I’ve been an Environmental Scientist and a Professor for more than 35 years. In that time, I’ve taught many courses about the environment, I have been involved with students at all levels, and I have run many environmental research projects. I have written about environmental topics in a variety of formats including 4 editions of a very successful university textbook.
I have been involved in environmental projects ranging from the Arctic to the Tropics. For example, I was a member the CIDA-sponsored project that gave environmental advice to the government, teachers and students of the tropical island of St. Lucia for many years.
In my more local surroundings, I have been Co-Director of the Lake Talon Alcan Research Preserve. I’ve been a board member, Chair or partner to various environmental, park, conservation, research or animal-care organizations. And I have worked with thousands of students in environmental courses, projects, clubs and research.
Most importantly, I have become aware that Professors need to come down from their ivory towers and “get real” by working with the public to understand environmental problems and solutions. I hope that you’ll give my first Udemy course a try, profit from the experience, and give me some feedback about the course. Dive in ... and learn as much as you can from these 43 lessons!
Note that more Udemy courses on deeper environmental topics are in the works. I will post shorter features at YouTube under the banner DrDave-EcoLogic.
