Weina Scott graduated from Harvard College in 2011 with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Economics. She first gained attention as the founder of several successful technology companies, including one she sold (Switchpod) just a year after launch, when she was 15. Before its acquisition, Switchpod was the second-largest podcasting network in the world.
Weina’s entrepreneurial endeavors were featured in Inc. Magazine, Red Herring, Yahoo News, The New York Post, NBC News, TechCrunch, The Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald, Silicon Republic, The New York Times, The Irish Times, Mashable, The New Yorker, and Business Insider.
She and Ignacio Leonhardt are the technical founders of venture-backed Handy. At the young age of 21, she helped the company raise $2,000,000 (initial funding) from top venture capital firms (Highland Capital and General Catalyst) in less than three months. Handy, which has raised over $ 100 million from renowned investors, was sold to ANGI Homeservices Inc. in October 2018.
