Academic Training: Industrial Engineer in Chemistry UPC (1986). Master in Quality Assessment (1991). Master in Leather engineering UPC (2012). Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering UPC (2014). My scientific and technical professional background has developed in different fields following parallel to my career. As a product engineer, responsible on the development and production of PU foams for application in the automotive industry allowed me to deepen the study of the chemistry of polymers, especially polyurethane. As head of R+D+i, control laboratory and quality management in the sector of synthetic fibers, allowed me to acquire significant experience in managing research projects, also in the polymerization processes polyester and transformation in textile fibers.
Since 2009, firstly at AIICA (Research Association of Leather Industries and Annexes) and since 2012 at Chair A3 in Leather Innovation (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), and currently at A3 Leather Innovation Center (Universidad de Lleida) my activities are focused on the field of research, as Researcher and R&D Project Manager at national and European level. I am currently responsible for managing research and development of R&D projects in collaboration with companies at A3 Center of Universidad de Lleida, also conducting technology transfer activities, networking and technology watch. Among other areas I have participated in R&D activities in NMP (Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, materials & new production technologies) and Environmental sustainability as a researcher in the area of new materials in the field of leather and textile and also in for preventive strategies to mitigate Climate Change. My area of current research is new sustainable materials from waste from the forestry, food, tannery and textile industry, improving the sustainability and boosting the circular economy objectives.
