For nearly 20 years, I've worked as a voice therapist with people with difficulties secondary to emotional rather than physical issues. As a result I've trained in a multitude of different coaching techniques so that I can help my clients overcome their problems, find their physical - and metaphorical - voice again and empower them to reconnect back with life. Over the years I became more and more interested in coaching as I realised that the skills I had acquired could help anyone, not just someone with a specific voice difficulty.
I became a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming in 2012 before becoming interested in Mindfulness and being offered a place at Oxford University to read Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Yet it was when I was awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship and travelled to the USA and Canada to explore the link between the mind and the body that I was to stumble upon something truly transformational. What I learnt of 'The Three Principles' of Mind, Thought and Consiousness was to change my life forever and it was thanks to this 'inside-out' understanding of how we experience life that I was able to help myself when I experienced severe overwhelm and burnout myself many years later.
Having developed a simple yet highly effective 7-step process to deal with overwhelm my mission is to share it with others so that everyone can become their own best coach, no matter where they live, who they are and what's going on.
I live in England with my husband and 3 children and when I'm not working, I love running through the countryside, photography and music. My absolute passion is people and I am never happier than meeting new people or connecting with old friends. Other than that, I LOVE stories and writing, would you believe it but I've kept a diary almost every day of my life since I was 13...I'm not going to tell you how many years ago that was!
