With over 15 years of professional experience in community services, I have dedicated my career to supporting people affected by trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges. My approach blends academic knowledge, practical skills, and heartfelt compassion to empower individuals to create meaningful change in their lives.
Education and Qualifications
I hold a diverse and robust educational background that underpins my work:
Bachelor in Psychological Science & Sociology from the University of South Australia: This foundational degree provided me with a strong understanding of human behaviour, societal influences, and the interplay between psychology and sociology.
Master’s in Indigenous Health from the University of Wollongong: My advanced studies have deepened my knowledge and respect for holistic, culturally sensitive approaches to health and healing, particularly in Indigenous communities.
Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Trauma Recovery from the University of Wollongong: I specialise in trauma recovery, with a focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by Indigenous populations.
Diploma in Arts, Social Sciences & Management from the University of South Australia: This multidisciplinary qualification has enriched my skills in leadership, social sciences, and creative problem-solving.
SMART Recovery Certification: I am a certified facilitator of SMART Recovery, equipping me with evidence-based tools to help people overcome addiction and achieve long-term well-being.
Professional Experience
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked in diverse roles across community services, specialising in:
Drug & Alcohol Recovery: Supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use, helping them rebuild their lives through personalised, strength-based strategies.
Trauma-Informed Practice: Guiding clients through the process of understanding and healing from past traumas in a safe, compassionate, and empowering environment.
Community Development: Collaborating with communities to design and implement programs that foster resilience, mental health, and social well-being.
Teaching Philosophy
My work is driven by the belief that every individual holds the power to heal and grow when given the right tools and support. Through my courses, I aim to make healing accessible, engaging, and transformative. Whether you are a mental health professional, a caregiver, or someone on your own healing journey, my goal is to provide you with practical, actionable frameworks—such as the Trauma Graph—that you can use to create meaningful change.
What Sets Me Apart
Culturally Informed Practice: With a deep understanding of Indigenous health and trauma recovery, I bring a culturally sensitive lens to all my work.
Holistic and Evidence-Based Approaches: My methods combine the best of academic research, lived experience, and practical tools.
