My name is Byron Smith, and I’ve spent nearly 2 decades in the commercial construction industry working across multiple roles: Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Estimator, and Quality Control Manager for major contractors in the all across Texas.

Over my career, I’ve worked on large-scale projects including data centers, airports, sports stadium, K-12 campuses, high-rises and historic commercial buildings. On every project, one truth stayed consistent: your ability to read and interpret construction plans determines how successful you’ll be on the job.

Today, I teach thousands of students, interns, and young professionals through my Learn About Construction brand, where I break down complex construction concepts into simple, practical lessons. My teaching style is clear, engaging, and built around real examples from real job sites.
