About me
Originally from Georgia in the US, Brian Newhouse traveled the world for about 15 years. In this time, he worked as a Peace Corps in the Cape Verde Islands, built wind turbines around the US and volunteered with non-profit organizations in Haiti and Dominican Republic.
In 2013, he honed skills in self-reliant living in Thailand and India and went on to lead workshops at sites throughout Asia. He wrote the Permaville Handbook and created the Permaville Farm Course in 2016. Newhouse later walked from Atlanta, Georgia to Oaxaca, Mexico. He is currently making wood turned crafts in North Carolina.
