Hi, my name is Brian. I am a registered psychologist and highly regarded coach, counsellor and facilitator, as well as course designer. My experience as an actor, a Psychologist and a freelancer means that I am uniquely placed within the industry. With my diverse experience, interest in performance, people and their development, I bring a wealth of knowledge and insight into human behaviour.
Five years ago, I made the leap into the relative unknown, to run my own business. The jump was both thrilling and trepidatious. I had previously been an actor for thirteen years and then went back to university to become a business psychologist while continuing to work and help raise a young family. I then worked for nine years at a couple of small consultancy firms before doing what I always wanted to do - work for myself. As a small business owner, I love the flexibility and variety; the extended time with family (sometimes!); and the opportunity to choose the work that I want to do. Sometimes I find myself working seventy-five hours a week, sometimes five. I have said “yes” more than I should have. I have experienced burnout but found a way through it. I forget to take the advice I provide my clients. I worry and have doubts. I procrastinate. But I get up every time I fall down.
As the owner of my own business I have learned the importance of building competence, confidence connections to stay in touch with what matters. Teaming up with Tracey and, our behind-the-scenes collaborator Nina, as the trio at Co3, has allowed me to leverage other professionals' vast expertise and experience and bring it together for the benefit of other small businesses, thus helping build their competence, confidence & connections to help them shine.
