I'm a Data Engineer, Consultant, and Mentor who enjoys taking complicated platforms apart and putting them back together in a way that finally makes sense.
My days are spent building data platforms on Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, dbt, Snowflake, and Airflow — and everything I teach here comes out of that work. Not from a syllabus, but from the situations that actually come up in production: what breaks, why it breaks, and what to do about it.
I also write the Understanding series, taking these platforms apart in plain language, and I build Parquet Reader, a desktop app for anyone who works with Parquet files.
Whatever brought you here, my aim is the same: that you leave understanding how the thing works, not just remembering what it's called.
