Dr. B. Baranidharan is a distinguished academician, researcher, and Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, with over 15 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. He holds a Ph.D. from SASTRA University, where his research focused on optimizing clustering architectures in Wireless Sensor Networks using computational intelligence techniques such as Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithms, and Graph Theory.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Wireless Sensor Networks, Precision Agriculture, Autonomous Systems, and Generative AI. He has successfully guided Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising multiple researchers working on AI-driven solutions aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
He has published extensively in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences, with more than 50 research publications and over 500 citations. His innovative contributions include patents in video colorization using GANs, rice leaf disease detection, and breast cancer prediction systems.
He is also an active member of ACM India, IEEE, and IEEE Computer Society. Passionate about technology-enabled societal transformation, he continuously works on impactful AI-based research projects in healthcare, agriculture, autonomous driving, and assistive technologies for visually impaired individuals.
