Professional Background:
I am Aruna Samarathunga. I graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka as a Civil Engineer. In the year 2007, I began my career as a Planning Engineer for the road rehabilitation project at Keangnam Enterprise. In 2010, I entered the Irrigation Department as an Irrigation Engineer, and in 2023, I became a Chartered Engineer.
Professional Teaching Experience:
I became an entrepreneur by introducing Ceylon Cambridge College to help university entrants in Sri Lanka. For many years, I worked as a mentor and teacher in math, logic (IQ), and spoken English subjects.
I worked as an Instructor in the hydrology division at the Civil Department of the Faculty of Engineering under the supervision of Eng. (Prof.) K.D.W. Nandalal. As a University Instructor, I underwent many mathematical hydrology models.
Postgraduate Education:
In September 2022, I got my first Master from Japan. The degree is "Master of Disaster Management." My GPS is 3.71/4.00, and my thesis was "Climate Change Impacts on Extreme Rainfall and Flood Events in Kalu River Basin, Sri Lanka." My investigations employed the Global Circulation Models (GCMs) and Advance Hydrological Modes. In 2023, I got my second master's degree from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Currently, I am pursuing a second degree at the JAMK University of Finland. I am studying a Bachelor of Business Information Technology, and I am living in Jyväskylä with my family.
