I started using Civil 3D in 2007 when I joined Autodesk as a Customer Success Consultant, where I was responsible for implementing Autodesk Civil 3D software. Subsequently, I moved to the Devotech Group of Companies, initially as an Application Engineer, and now as the Technical Services Manager.
At Devotech, we specialize in developing an add-on for Autodesk Civil 3D called Devotech iDAS (Infrastructure Design Automation Suite). My responsibilities span various areas, including:
- Developing Civil 3D subassemblies, templates, and parts in Part Builder
- Software development (C# and VB dot NET)
- Software testing and quality assurance
- Workflow development
- Writing and maintaining software documentation (help files, brochures)
- Writing blog posts
- Providing technical support and software implementation
- Supporting on projects
- Designing and delivering training courses, including recording training videos and conducting on-site training
- Conducting Devotech iDAS resellers' training
- Conducting software demonstrations
I have developed and delivered numerous on-site training courses worldwide on a range of software, including Devotech iDAS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Structural Detailing, 3ds Max, Revit Structures (with a focus on bridges and structural design), Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, HEC-RAS, EPANET, and EPASWMM.
My primary goal is to simplify complex topics by presenting them in a clear, structured, and practical manner, ensuring that they are easily understood by all participants.
I have a MSc (2003) and PhD (2007) in Civil Engineering.
