A trained vocalist under eminent gurus Pt. Vinayakrao Kale and Dr. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande in Mumbai, with her soulful voice Anita has performed widely and has published music albums Panorama, Kesariya and Jaivanti. Anita often develops research-based musical presentations, Nirmohi (on Sant Kabeer and Meerabai) and Bhaav Bhairavi (a musical solo that explores raag Bhairavi for its momentous emotional appeal) to name a few. Her other accomplished projects include Gandhaar and Pancham, the music appreciation workshops that demystify Hindustani music through a unique participative approach. Often supported by art grants, they are also regarded for self-help, health and wellness. Taking the uplifting Indian arts to global audiences, Anita’s work includes ‘Art of India’ curated-executed in partnership with the Taubman Museum of Art in Virginia-USA, ‘Sangam’ - a music-dance show with Houston-USA talent, ‘Panorama’- the stage production with great reviews in India and Europe, ‘Meet Me on the Meadow’ – the enriching Kathak ballet, and ‘Celestia – a music mystique, a dance mosaic’. Renu-The Foundation for Art, a USA-based non-profit org. founded by Anita Kulkarni is the umbrella for Anita’s artistic work. An architect by training and profession (Bachelor of Architecture, Bombay Univ., India and Master’s in Landscape Architecture, USA) Anita is based in Greater Princeton-NJ, USA and splits her time between India and the USA.
