I help aspiring singers to get the most potential from their voices by eliminating tension and teaching solid technique to help them to use their voice powerfully and effortlessly.
I am passionate about singing. It's good for your mind and your body, your self confidence, your health and so much more. Singing can be a fun hobby, a therapy, a way of expressing oneself and a great way to relax.
Why am I different to every other singing teacher?
I INCORPORATE VISUALISATIONS TO MY TEACHING
Many singers, and indeed many creatives, are visual learners. The problem with singing is that our instruments are invisible. They're inside our bodies and therefore more difficult to manipulate. I use something called visual cuing - I give my students pictures and images to imagine while they sing, which helps the technique to stick in their minds and therefore translate to their voices much faster.
I'M DOWN TO EARTH AND MAKE MY TEACHING FUN
When we're smiling and feeling positive we pick things up faster and we work harder. I always aim to make my lessons fun to help my students relax and try new things without feeling intimidated.
I ENCOURAGE EACH STUDENT TO FIND THEIR OWN STYLE
I'll help a student to find their vocal range and increase it, but I won't label them a soprano, alto, tenor or bass. Everybody has a range and style where they sing most comfortably and naturally, but our voices are incredibly amazing and complex and limiting ourselves to one style or range can restrict our growth and progress as singers.
*I also have a degree in Musical Theatre, a higher certificate in Contemporary Vocal Teaching and over 20 years experience performing on stage and singing professionally.
