Alex Matveev graduated with specialty bridges and tunnels civil engineer in 2001. After that he successfully defended his thesis on "Structural Mechanics" specialty, subject "the criteria for identifying the most dangerous elements and stability loss of structures" and get the Ph.D. degree.

In 2005 he took a position at PASS in the development team of START-PROF piping stress analysis software, the world’s first pipe stress analysis package (since 1965) and is industry standard in several countries for oil & gas, process, power, and district heating piping.

Now he is the head of development team of pipe stress analysis software PASS/START-PROF.
