My name is Aleksander, and I’m a filmmaker and film festival judge with experience on both sides of the submission process. After a year of film school focused on short fiction, I transitioned into documentary filmmaking, creating projects both domestically and internationally. Several of my short documentaries have earned festival selections and even award nominations, and for the past two years I’ve served as a judge for the One Fluid Night Film Festival based in London.
I understand how vulnerable it feels to send a film into the world - and how confusing the festival landscape can be. My goal is to demystify that process and give filmmakers clear, honest guidance that’s grounded in real festival experience. I’m passionate about helping creators tell authentic stories, improve their craft, and approach festivals with confidence rather than fear.
In all my teaching, I aim to be supportive, practical, and transparent. I believe great filmmaking comes from both skill and courage, and I’m here to help you strengthen both.
