Johnson is a seasoned data scientist and engineer with over a decade of leadership experience spanning the finance, consulting, government sectors, where he has headed enterprise artificial intelligence, data science practices, and analytics functions at executive levels. His technical breadth covers applied statistical computing, machine learning, big data engineering, agentic and generative AI, complemented by full-stack web and mobile application development.
Academically, he holds an undergraduate degree in Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics from University of California, Berkeley and a postgraduate degree in Statistics from Yale University. He concurrently serves as an adjunct faculty and principal fellow at top Singaporean Universities, where he has developed and taught graduate-level coursework in applied statistical computing, machine learning, as well as big data tools and techniques. Across professional learning institutions in the region, he has also designed and delivered courses on managing technology, process, and people in data science, AI adoption strategy, as well as chatbot and machine learning applications, bridging rigorous quantitative foundations with applied industry practice.
A passionate hackathon participant, Johnson has earned first prize at Singapore's largest national programming and app development competition (along with a Special Prize for Best User Experience Design), the Best Data Application Award at a national tax authority's inaugural hackathon, and a win at a major regional real estate group's data challenge. His broader accolades include multiple international Data Impact Awards from a leading analytics platform and recognition among the region's top 100 analytics leaders.
