Adrian Anderson began his career in education over 20 years ago as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant and became a qualified Teacher in 2004. He quickly rose through the ranks to work at Senior Management Level in a number of secondary schools, including in Deputy Headteacher and Deputy Principal roles.
Along the way, Adrian gained a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, mentoring, behaviour improvement, pastoral care and welfare, as well as teaching.
In 2017, he established Make A Difference Education Limited to share his expertise in these areas by offering a consultancy service to schools in challenging circumstances or those in need of additional support, as well as providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) packages for teaching staff and supply agencies.
Adrian has supported large Academy Trusts by devising and delivering strategies that were successful in improving student behaviour and attendance, increasing parental engagement, and improving the efficiency of pastoral care.
He has provided coaching and mentoring to teaching staff and boosted the leadership/management capacity of the schools he has worked with.
Adrian has vast experience in classroom and behaviour management, well-being and mental health as well as pastoral care and support for vulnerable pupils.
Adrian is passionate about ensuring that all our young people can benefit from a good education, and that teaching staff are equipped with the skills and resources they need to be able to provide this. The key driver is making a positive and sustainable impact for teachers and pupils, enabling better lessons and outcomes through bespoke training and support.
A natural leader, he is articulate, measured and adept at conflict resolution. With a high level of emotional intelligence and an innate ability to communicate with people of all ages and at all levels, Adrian inspires colleagues and students alike.
