About me
Chris Powell, Director of The Event Expert Ltd. specialises in helping accidental, occasional and new event planners become confident and skilled events professionals; able to design, plan and deliver their own high-quality event experiences. Chris has been designing, planning and delivering events for the past 20+ years. He has been a local authority events manager and events director of a range of events and festivals, as well as helping a variety of organisations to deliver their events – as a freelance events manager and coach.
For the past 20+ years, he has also been helping a wide range of organisations from the business; charity and public sectors to develop the ideas, skills and confidence to go it alone: run their own events. His clients include major businesses, local authorities, UK and European training companies, tourism, education, marketing agencies and individuals. Course delegates also range from first time and occasional event planners and students, right through to experienced event professionals. Examples of clients Chris has designed and delivered event management courses for include Dior, Heineken, NATO, Morphe, The Air Ambulance Trust, Council of Europe, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Department of Ttansport...to name but a few.
With some 500 events successfully completed and over 6000 of today's and the next generation of event managers trained, he is an in demand event specialist. He writes for key event industry sites, regularly gets asked to speak on all things events and is the author of two event management books namely:

'How to deliver successful virtual events' Chris’ company The Event Expert provides bespoke in-house event management courses and consultancy services on business, exhibitions (including stand staff training), community events, major sports events and festivals.
