As a Worksource coordinator in Los Angeles county, I took the initiative to begin teaching Microsoft Office to underprivileged youth and low-income homeless populations at New Image Shelter in Los Angeles. It brought me great joy being able to help those with little hope find confidence in their abilities and cultivate employment opportunities. As the coordinator of the Worksource program at a shelter serving about 1,000 per night, I was able to implement a new course curriculum which resulted in over 100 homeless receiving employment in various fields over the course of just 1 year.
From there, I went on to take more courses and hone my skills with the Microsoft Office suite which is where I better realized my propensity and aptitude with Microsoft Excel. Now working for the world's second largest Music Publishing company, I have been able to create useful forms and solutions to decades old problems simply by using MS Excel. In 2 short years, I have been twice promoted and am now Supervisor of Customer Support and corporate reporting for the company.
