In a nutshell Photoshop is the tool for improving
how images look by removing unwanted details from them, improving their colours, exposure,
contrast, sharpness and overall look. But it doesn’t stop there, as you can also combine
images creating seamless compositions and even add animations, videos or 3D objects
into your designs. Photoshop is the flagship product of Adobe
and has been for a long time. Its popularity comes from its unbelievable image manipulation
techniques and effects and its versatility that made it the industry standard tool in
most creative fields. To mention but a few areas where most professionals would Photoshop
as their primary tool: photography, photo retouching, photo manipulation, digital art,
concept art, game design, poster design, graphic design, user interface design, web design
and 3D texture design. Photoshop is one of the few applications that
has a big fan base and is actually part of popular culture. Its name is part of our everyday
dictionary when we talk about something out-of-this-world or unbelievable. As a term Photoshop can also
have a negative connotation as something being fake or unrealistic. Thanks to Photoshop you
can never be sure when you look at an image whether you see a real photograph or a manipulated
digital creation. In this course we are going to start from
the very basics like how to change the colors of an image all the way to complex workflows
like beauty retouching and user interface design. This will be an amazing and exciting
journey, that will be challenging but fun at the same time. We will cover all you need
to know to be able to start using Photoshop as a professional. My aim is to teach you
the best ways of doing everything in Photoshop, to make you confident that you will always
know which tool or feature to use in every situation.
Along the way besides the technical knowledge you need I will also teach you a lot about
design principles, compositional techniques and plenty of best practices that I picked
up and developed while working as a designer and retoucher on projects such as Pixar Cars
and Toy Story style guides, BBC’s Dr Who cast and Mattel’s Team Hot Wheels. So what are we waiting for? Let’s get started
and master Adobe Photoshop!
