Curriculum

Section 1: Getting Started
07:53

In this opening session, we'll give you a bit of background on your instructor, and an insight into what's going to be covered during the course!

16:05

In this lecture, we look at mind mapping principles that can help you get the most out of mind mapping software.

06:04
In this lecture, we'll look at what we mean by "business productivity", and why the challenge of 'Information Overload' may be bigger than many people realise!
Section 2: Step 1: Capture
05:14
In this session we'll look at why it's important to start by capturing all of the ideas, tasks, and information you can think of in your mind map, and why the focus (at the moment) is on quantity, not quality!
09:44

In this section we look at the fundamental features within iMindMap that will enable us to capture ideas and information, and start building our mind map dashboard.

11:26

In this session we'll start to build up the foundations of our Dashboard mind map, by Capturing key ideas and information, and organising it into groups. We'll use the innovative 'Brainstorm' mode within iMindMap to get started, and then transfer into our normal mind map view.

Section 3: Step 2: Prioritise
05:56
Now it's time to start thinking about ways to prioritise all the tasks, ideas, and projects that we're dealing with on a daily basis. In this session we'll discuss the importance of prioritisation, and the value of lining up your priority planning with the overall business objectives.
02:42

In this short session, we'll introduce the Icons feature within iMindMap, which will help us to make our priorities more visible and visual when we build up the next stage of our dashboard mind map.

14:31

In this session we focus on identifying the priority items within our dashboard mind map, and ensuring they are marked visibly to provide us with clarity around where we should be focusing our efforts. We'll also be using the very structure of the mind map to organise our priority items around the clock-face, and top to bottom throughout the dashboard.

Section 4: Step 3: Plan
06:02

In this session, we'll start looking at how we can use our mind map to move along numerous projects and tasks at any one time, focusing on progress across multiple areas.

09:04

In this session, we'll look at some of the features within iMindMap that can help us with planning out the what, when, and who information within our dashboard mind map.

11:50

In this session we'll start to add some of the 'what, who, when'

information to our dashboard map, using the notes and task information options within iMindMap!

Section 5: Step 4: Progress
09:32

In this session, we'll start looking at how we can use our mind map to move along numerous projects and tasks at any one time, focusing on progress across multiple areas.

07:03

In this session we'll quickly review the use of flag icons to mark items that are moved or unmoved, and the additional use of the progress/completion icon to clarify the current progress on particular tasks.

14:41

In the final stage of our dashboard building, we'll look at getting that 'glance access' view of our current workload, and ensuring we remain focused on moving the most important things forward.

13:30

In this session, Liam shares his own mind map dashboard with you, to illustrate how he is using the principles and features discussed in the course to manage his own daily working!
