Once people are visiting your virtual real estate, you want to build a relationship with your visitors by adding them to an email list so you can contact them on a regular basis.

2.Once you have your home on the Internet and an email list, you need to start sharing your expertise with the people who need your knowledge and experience. These webinars cover what you need to know to create digital and physical information to sell online, and to use online training platforms.

When you decide to have an Internet presence, you will need a domain name for your site. Then you'll need to decide whether you want a static website, a blog, or a mix of the two. Do you want to have the freedom to create and/or update the site yourself? Will you use a free hosting service or pay for your website home?

Using a mixture of slides and live Internet demonstrations, this video addresses all of those questions, in non-technical terms. You can make an informed decision before you spend your time and money.

Domains and Websites

Blogger is a free hosting option, easy to use, and has a lot of flexibility if you want to start your own blog. Owned by Google, it allows advertising and is a great introduction to the world of blogging.

Wordpress is a content management system and is my choice for your website. It can be a stand-alone site, include a blog, or be a blog only. You can use the Wordpress site rather than hosting on your own site, but there are a number of limitations and it isn't recommended if you plan to sell from your site.

Email Marketing

Once your blog is up and running and people are visiting your site, you need to start gathering their emails and building a list. I've mentioned in previous episodes the importance of using a dedicated email service and why. This webinar concentrates on using Aweber to create an opt-in form such as that in the example above, build your list, send blog broadcasts, one time emails, and autoresponder messages to build a relationship with people.
