Course Description

Instructor available daily for questions

The videos in this series go more in-depth on the topics I covered in the 'Online Marketing From A to V' course. We begin with set up your online home and move on to marketing and growing your business online.

In these recorded half hour sessions, we’ll take a look at the most popular Internet programs and the time-saving tools you should be using.

Each session was originally a live webinar and includes questions from other people just like you – busy people who want to use the technology without having to spend hours figuring it all out. Once the webinars ended, they were turned into videos that you can watch and listen to whenever you like.

What are the requirements?

  • Basic Internet skill and a desire to learn. Some of the topics, such as Hootsuite, show more advanced uses and taking the Online Marketing From A to V course first is recommended.

What am I going to get from this course?

  • You’ll come away from the sessions knowing which tools are best for your particular situation and make the most efficient use of your time. And you won’t be spending your days chasing ideas that might help your online marketing strategy.

What is the target audience?

  • Those who want to market themselves and their businesses online using a website, email, information products to share their expertise, and social media to promote themselves.
  • This course picks up from where Online Marketing From A to V left off and gets a little more in-depth about some of the topics.

Section 1: Introduction
29:01

The episodes in this course include the following:

1.To market on the Internet, you'll first build a solid online foundation - a website and domain name that people can find and will want to visit often. Once people are visiting your virtual real estate, you want to build a relationship with your visitors by adding them to an email list so you can contact them on a regular basis.

2.Once you have your home on the Internet and an email list, you need to start sharing your expertise with the people who need your knowledge and experience. These webinars cover what you need to know to create digital and physical information to sell online, and to use online training platforms.

3.Now you need to let everyone know how good you are at what you do. This module guides you to promote yourself online through the use of audio, video, and various social media platforms.

Section 2: Imagine All of These Online Marketing Possibilities
35:44

When you decide to have an Internet presence, you will need a domain name for your site. Then you'll need to decide whether you want a static website, a blog, or a mix of the two. Do you want to have the freedom to create and/or update the site yourself? Will you use a free hosting service or pay for your website home?

Using a mixture of slides and live Internet demonstrations, this video addresses all of those questions, in non-technical terms. You can make an informed decision before you spend your time and money.

37:31

Blogger is a free hosting option, easy to use, and has a lot of flexibility if you want to start your own blog. Owned by Google, it allows advertising and is a great introduction to the world of blogging.

This is the second video in the 'Imagine the Online Possibilities' Series. The episodes always start with a slide presentation and then we go online to demonstrate the concepts presented.

39:44

Wordpress is a content management system and is my choice for your website. It can be a stand-alone site, include a blog, or be a blog only. You can use the Wordpress site rather than hosting on your own site, but there are a number of limitations and it isn't recommended if you plan to sell from your site.

This is the third video in the 'Imagine the Online Possibilities' Series. The episodes always start with a slide presentation and then we go online to demonstrate the concepts presented.

39:05

In this episode, we discuss email marketing in general and some of the different services available. These include free accounts from your host, your personal email account (and the problems that could result), Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, and Aweber.

This is the fourth video in the 'Imagine the Online Possibilities' Series. The episodes always start with a slide presentation and then we go online to demonstrate the concepts presented.

41:26

Once your blog is up and running and people are visiting your site, you need to start gathering their emails and building a list. I've mentioned in previous episodes the importance of using a dedicated email service and why. This webinar concentrates on using Aweber to create an opt-in form such as that in the example above, build your list, send blog broadcasts, one time emails, and autoresponder messages to build a relationship with people.

This is the fifth video in the 'Imagine the Online Possibilities' Series. The episodes always start with a slide presentation and then we go online to demonstrate the concepts presented.

34:30

People search the Internet for information. Thanks to the tools now available, you can easily create digital or physical how-to products to sell. This episode gives an overview of what you need to decide before creating your info product, whether it be a course, a guide, an audio, or a video.

This is the sixth video in the 'Imagine the Online Possibilities' Series. The episodes always start with a slide presentation and then we go online to demonstrate the concepts presented.

Please note that there is a fan running in the background of this video, so the audio is a little bit harder to listen to, hence the lower price.

37:06

Now we'll look at some of the tasks you'll need to do before you can sell your own digital info products:
- Preparing Your Content
- Preparing Your Website
- Getting the Content Ready to be Delivered
- A Note About Kindle

36:26

In this lesson we'll talk about the steps required to create and self-publish a physical book of your information. This will include:
- tips for writing
- preparation and formatting of your manuscript
- designing an attractive cover
- uploading your book and setting a price
- using Kunaki if you'd like to sell your information on CD or DVD

40:41

If you would like to use the Internet to train others, this webinar covers some of the issues involved. These include:
- considerations as far as equipment, how your training should be conducted, and whether you will need help
- recording - what are the benefits and how will you record?
- delivery - what services will you use to conduct your training sessions? What about interaction online?
- interaction
- troubleshooting
- tips and follow-up ideas

I've also included a short video walk-through of the GoToWebinar tools, so please watch right to the end of the video.

41:40

Please note: Since this webinar was recorded, Udemy has changed their content requirements. Instead of 3 lectures and 1 hour of content as mentioned, the checklist from Udemy states 5 lectures and at least 30 minutes of content (for the entire course, not per lecture).

In this session, we'll talk about creating courses for the Udemy platform. The following topics will be covered:

- what is Udemy?
- what are the benefits of teaching a course on Udemy?
- course needs and steps: initial planning, types of content, decisions to make
- required components
- roadblocks
- tips
- interaction and community
