My name is Jake Posko, owner of Severn River Guitar. I’m a musician, guitar teacher, performer, singer and songwriter. I’ve seen my students struggle with singing and playing guitar at the same time, and I’ve come up with strategies to make this process a lot easier.
By the end of this course you will be able to sing and play a song on the guitar. And not only that, but your strumming and overall skills on the guitar will improve. Whether you want to relax on the front porch and strum a few songs, or try out your skills in front of an audience at your own gig, you will be able to to pick up your guitar and sing and play along to your favorite songs.
To do this, I’m going to teach you all of the lessons that I usually only share with my private guitar students.
I’m going to walk you through, step-by-step the process of learning a new song.
We’ll start with song selection and the basics of learning the song
Then we’ll move on to strategies to help you sing and play at the same time
We’ll cover frequent trouble spots (like chord changes, and strumming patterns)
Lastly we’ll go over techniques to perfect your playing so it sounds awesome.
And if you are an absolute beginner on the guitar, as a bonus, I’ve included my “Guitar Crash Course” for free. It’s quick and easy to follow; plus it’s designed to cover just the basic stuff you need to start playing the guitar.
I’ve designed this course for anyone who has ever wanted to sing and play the guitar at the same time. If you want to be a professional or if you just want to hang out and play music with your friends, this course will be perfect for you. No guitar playing experience is needed. This course is designed for total beginners or anyone who just needs a bit of extra guidance.
We all have to start somewhere, and I know what it’s like to struggle with this. I also know how fun and rewarding it can be once you start singing and playing your favorite songs.
