This mini-webinar is taken from a speech I made to a local business organisation about Online Marketing and I thought it would make a great bonus lecture to add to this course. I call it a mini-webinar because it is nearly 15 minuntes long but really it is only me recording the speech I gave as a lecture rather than having a video set up at the time. Let me know what you think!
In this Lecture I briefly introduce myself. I explain why I created this Course and why my primary objective is your success.
It would be great if you would introduce yourself in the discussions. Where are you from? what are your objectives for the course? What challenges are you facing? Join in with the community here and lets all work together for our mutual success.
Do welcome new members and answer questions if you can!

Section 2: Who are Your Audience?
In this lecture we start our exploration of Social Media Strategy by addressing the key question: Who are your Audience?
You need to consider also where your audience is to be found on Social Media in order to make sure that you can engage with them. In simple terms, there is no point trying to have a conversation in an empty room.
Who are Your Audience - Slidedeck
Section 3: How Social Media Works and My Social Media Manifesto
In order to understand the thinking behind my Social Media Manifesto, you need to grasp some fundamental concepts.
Firstly WHAT is Social Media?
HOW does Social Media work?
WHAT is the Social Media Funnel?
How do you relate the Social Media Funnel to your Network? How good are your relationships?
With these concepts explained, I ask the key question: What does this mean for YOUR Social Media Strategy?
I summarise at the end of this first section by inviting you to consider that you should "Give before you Get" and
" Build Relationships Before you Sell"
Discover How Social Media Works Part 2
The summary of all this is my Social Media Manifesto: "Don't Sell, Share and Add Value".

Section 4: The Social Media Landscape
In this section, I explain the complexity of the Social Media Landscape, which can be overwhelming. It is important to understand what is out there but also where you should focus your activity and where you do it.
I demonstrate that the Landscape can be distilled into Expression, Sharing, Networking and Gaming and that this all takes place on Social Media Platforms.
I explain each of these terms and then show how they come together: the types of activity and some examples of the major Social Media Platforms on which they occur.
I summarise this section by explaining:
The Social Medial Landscape is Complex
You need to understand the Online Ecosystem
And the different forms of online expression.
You must relate to your audience
It is essential that you build your strategy around your own website and on the basis of a Hub and Spoke Strategy.

Section 5: Does Your Content Strategy Tie Up with Your Social Media Strategy?
In implementing a Social Media Strategy, you must focus your attention on your Website and this has some key components: Control, your Blog, your Email List, the importance of including Audio and Video as well as text, building a Social Media Funnel through which to channel your audience, the importance of comments for encouraging engagement, using free give aways to encourage email list sign ups and being aware of the importance of links for Search Engine Optimisation.
In Part 2 of this Section, I demonstrate how to create different forms of Content, Text, Audio, Video and Images and how you can then repurpose this content in different way and for use on different Social Media Platforms.
Content Repurposing is a core element of Social Media Strategy.
I then highlight some other factors of which you need to be aware.

What Keywords are and why they are important.
The difference between Organic and Paid traffic.
